Compliance Officer
Project Duration: 3-6 months, possible extension
Compensation: $58+/hr
Clearance: Not required
Location: Remote (U.S. only)

This is a contract role for a Compliance Officer who knows how to translate complex federal cybersecurity standards into practical, workable policies and technical implementation plans. You’ll ensure that every aspect of the platform and team meets the highest compliance benchmarks.
Translation: you make the rules real - you make them stick.
What You’ll Actually Do:
▪️ Lead implementation and documentation of NIST 800-171, CMMC, and other federal compliance
standards
▪️ Conduct gap assessments and risk analysis for platform and operations
▪️ Partner with engineers and PMs to align technical architecture with regulatory requirements
▪️ Manage system security plans (SSPs), POA&Ms, and audit readiness
▪️ Advise on continuous monitoring and policy enforcement procedures
What You Bring:
▪️ 6–8+ years of experience in IT compliance, cybersecurity policy, or related roles
▪️ Bachelor’s degree in Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, or related field—or equivalent experience
▪️ Strong understanding of federal security frameworks (NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, etc.)
▪️ Experience working on or preparing for DoD and federal audits
Extra Credit:
▪️ CISA, CISM, or similar certifications
▪️ Experience working with emerging technologies like AI or blockchain in regulated environments
▪️ Bonus if you’ve ever turned audit findings into team wins
