Security Engineer
Project Duration: 6 months, possible extension
Compensation: $50+/hr

Location: Remote (U.S. only)

This is a contract role for a Security Engineer who’s spent years hardening systems and defending sensitive environments. You’ll serve as the technical backbone for securing our AI-driven cybersecurity platform—fortifying infrastructure, guiding secure architecture, and ensuring we build with integrity from the inside out.
Translation: you bring both the locks and the keys.
What You’ll Actually Do:
▪️Design and implement security controls across systems and networks
▪️Support secure system architecture and threat modeling
▪️Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and remediation
▪️Integrate best practices from NIST 800-171, CMMC, and other frameworks
▪️Collaborate with DevSecOps, compliance, and product teams to ensure holistic protection
What You Bring:
▪️ 6–8+ years of hands-on security engineering experience
▪️ Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science or related field—or equivalent experience
▪️ Strong knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, secure coding practices, and network segmentation
▪️Familiarity with federal cybersecurity controls (e.g., NIST, FISMA, CMMC)
Extra Credit:
▪️Experience securing AI/ML environments or cloud-native apps
▪️CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or CISSP certifications
▪️Bonus if you’ve hardened a system that was audited by a federal agency
